Artist's Vision

"Color is not a descriptor; it is the architecture of the memory." Peter Farmer

A Pioneer
of Future
Fauvism

Peter Farmer is an artist of transatlantic perspective and the pioneering force behind the Future Fauvist movement. A British-born Canadian painter, Farmer creates high-velocity, chromatically intense works that bridge the gap between early 20th-century color theory and the sleek aesthetic of the 21st century.

His work stands as a defiant, vibrant celebration of human emotion in an age of encroaching digital artifice as the father of this vital new direction, Farmer's painting serves as a visceral response to the role of the human soul in a world increasingly dominated by artificial intelligence.

Where the original Fauves used color to express raw emotion, Farmer's Future Fauvism uses chromatic intensity to explore the "place between places" the intersection of luxury, leisure, and cultural memory.

Prayers to Fatima

220 180 cm Acrylic on Canvas

The Candlelight Procession at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Ftima, Portugal. October 13th. What if you could see prayers? I would imagine some would be more intense than others in many colours, but all pinned with hope, firing into the heavens like distress flares.

Senhora da Praia

Senhora da Praia

220.98 182.88 cm Acrylic on Canvas

Inspired by the yearly procession at Praia das Mas every August. The beauty of collective souls marching toward wild waves conjures images of the past a beach that was once a Roman place of worship, then a Muslim mosque, now a living ceremony of reverence for an ocean that provides and takes away.

The little trolley clangs and squeals to a stop. Then a very energetic, optimistic ringing of its bell too cheery for such an old thing. Running for over 100 years. The front-row seat to a beautiful life one should be living.

Os Milagres de
Santo Antnio

My first impression of Portugal the festivals that erupted across Lisbon during the month of celebrations of the patron Saint of love and miracles. Each of Santo Antnio's famous miracles rendered with a modern twist, surrounded in warped perspective.

In the Dominican Republic, the corner store (Colmado) is the neighbourhood's heart. At night, after serving cigarettes and daily essentials, it becomes a hive of life people drinking, watching sports, dancing onto the streets.

Swimfins

Sometimes not touching the bottom is liberating. The feeling of treading without any guarantee you'll make it back to shore that is the thrill of life. Floating above it all. It could be a big toe away from the bottom or a Mariana Trench away.

Swimming in the Rain

Swimming in the Rain

182.9 121.9 cm Acrylic on Canvas

Where the sky meets the sea lifting and heaving in the playful hint of a storm. The water feels warmer than ever. A hypnotic cradling: shoulders cold, but feeling alive. More alive than ever.

Snow Birds

Snow Birds

Saving up. Pinching pennies. Peeling yourself out of bed. Putting up with all the dark mornings all worth it when you wade into that beautiful warm water with your fellow snowbirds.

La Vitilla

La Vitilla

Some of the finest baseball players in the world hail from the streets of the Dominican Republic honing skills with a broom handle and a water bottle cap. Dreams do come true, especially when you play like this.

Parasoles

One day none of this will exist. But not today. Today we will have white wine and oysters. We will worry about food in our teeth and if our sunburn is too much. Then we will pull up our parasols and keep ignoring how temporary we are on this floating patio.
